How Do We Ensure Moving in the Summer Months is as Hassle-Free as Possible?
If you’re planning on moving in the summer months between Memorial Day and Labor Day in Tennessee, congratulations! You’re moving during the season that we in the relocation industry refer to as peak season!
Why is Tennessee’s Peak Season So Busy?
Many people prefer to make their moves after the kids are out of school and while the weather’s fairly predictable. We estimate that 60% of the moves we assist with each year are done in June, July, and August.
However, just because peak season is busy, it doesn’t mean that you should have to compromise and use less-than-stellar movers. On The Move believes that preparing for the season in advance will ensure that we’ve got the capacity to help as many customers as possible, ensuring a seamless transition from one home to the next.
We Hire More Staff to Fit the Demand
In order to properly prepare for our busiest season, we hire additional staff for the summer months. Often they’re students seeking extra cash during their school break, but occasionally we’ll get other people seeking part-time employment. We give them a week of intensive training, and then send them out with two more experienced employees. They’re able to complete their education on the job, with guidance from their coworkers.
On average, we send out a three-man crew to pack and move your belongings, but if your home’s larger than 3500-4000 square feet, we’ll add an additional worker to keep things moving at a brisk pace. That’s why it’s so important to be sure that we’re fully staffed to help everyone moving in the summer.
