What happens if my moving truck and items arrive before I do?
We would know ahead of time whether your moving truck and items were far ahead of you. So, we try to make sure that that doesn’t happen. But let’s just say that you got caught up with something en route that delayed you. If we were to get there ahead of time, we would probably just take an extra day and charge an overnight fee. But with us, we’re working with each customer to make sure that our dates are exactly right. If we were to get to a destination and for some reason, the closing didn’t go through, don’t worry. We would not necessarily just go put your items in storage.
We try to work with our clients so that we would be compensated maybe for a day of waiting. This is better than the alternative. That would mean taking it and putting it in storage and incurring a lot of additional costs. That’s one of the main reasons we want to make sure initially that we are accounting for all the things that could happen. There are several things that can come up while moving, but we tend to focus the most on closing dates. If you have a closing date on a Monday, we probably don’t want to set up a delivery date for that Monday afternoon. We would probably schedule for the next day just to make sure that everything is accounted for.
