Beyond the Truck: Additional Moving Services Offered by On The Move

Moving Services and Extras to Make Your Move Hassle-Free

It’s time to move, and you’re completely overwhelmed by everything on your to-do list. You’ve got to set up utilities in the new house, fill out reams of paperwork, and prepare your family for the big change that’s about to happen. Let us give you a hand!

Sure, we’re available to relocate your possessions to your new home, but did you know that we have other services available, too?

Packing

If you’ve ever moved, you know how miserable it can be to pack up everything you own. We can help! Whether you want us to pack everything— from your groceries to the contents of your medicine cabinet or your closets to your bookshelves— or you just need a hand pulling together the last few boxes, we’re available to assist you in any capacity.

It would be an additional charge and take roughly a day for us to totally pack an average home. But if you really don’t have the time or ability to do it, it’s worth every penny.

Of course, there are items we can’t pack. These include potentially harmful items such as flammables or aerosol cans— things that could potentially ignite or explode within the load of packed items.

Crating

If you’ve got a particularly precious piece of art or something fragile, such as a mirror, we might recommend that you crate it prior to moving it. We partner with a third-party company that specializes in such tasks.

Appliances

Of course, we move your appliances, but we recommend that you utilize one of our partners to unhook and rehook the appliances. For liability purposes, we aren’t able to unhook and hook up washers, dryers, ice makers, or dishwashers. We suggest that you leave it to the experts.

Unloading and Unpacking

Most customers prefer to unpack their own boxes to ensure that everything is put where they prefer it to be. However, there are customers who request that we unpack boxes in addition to unloading. For an additional charge, we’re happy to unpack the boxes. However, when we unpack your boxes, we will mostly place items on the counter for you to place where you like. We’ll remove the boxes from your home once they’re emptied.

As we unload the trucks, we do make a concerted effort to ensure that each box is placed in the proper room. This will prevent the customers from having to carry potentially heavy boxes after we’ve left. We also place dresser mirrors on top of dressers, for example, to get the customers as comfortable as possible.
